The National Veterinary Education Association, headquartered in Los Angeles, California, was established in 2001 as a centralized informational organization for Veterinarians who recognize the importance of the role of keeping up with the latest veterinary technology and how to best implement that technology to build their practice.
The N.V.E.A. offers veterinary educational seminars on a wide range of subjects to help veterinarians learn how to better manage their current practice more efficiently, and how to expand their veterinary services, in order to offer quality care to their veterinary clients and patients.
Dr. Carolyn Stafford, Avondale Veterinary Healthcare Complex Des Moines, Iowa
The National Veterinary Education Association (N.V.E.A.) is a national organization which provides Veterinarians and Veterinary Practice Managers with educational seminars about the subjects that matter most to you. The N.V.E.A. sponsors both private educational seminars and accredited continuing education for State & National Veterinary Medical Association conventions. Educational presentations include the latest advances in veterinary medical research and the role of technological developments in veterinary medicine and veterinary practice management.
Dr. Tiffany Margolin, Animal Bird & Wellness Center Westlake Village, California
The N.V.E.A. also provides veterinary website consultation for private practice veterinarians who want to showcase their veterinary services on the Internet to potential new clients, while providing education and information to their current client base. Our veterinary technology seminars teach Veterinarians and Veterinary Practice Managers how to understand cutting edge technologies such as the Internet, streaming video, veterinary websites, interactive video conferencing, and the legal issues surrounding online prescription fulfillment and online diagnostics which now directly impact all private practice veterinarians.
The N.V.E.A. offers an affordable alternative to expensive veterinary practice management companies by providing many free services such as personnel management forms, technology counseling, veterinary website assistance, and many other services for veterinarians and veterinary hospitals.

Dr. Arla Barkemeyer with "Spencer" & "Skye"
"On Saturday, February 9, 2008 the veterinary community lost one of its most valued contributors to animal health care. Dr. Arla Barkemeyer passed away at her beloved cabin on the Dearborn River where she loved the serenity and quiet of Montana's back country.
Dr. Barkemeyer attended College at Washington State University graduating in 1973, and practiced veterinary medicine for over 30 years, and had a special interest in veterinary orthopedic surgery. Dr. Barkemeyer was a rare treasure of talent and compassion performing pro bono services for the Montana Fish & Wildlife Parks. She was also instrumental i n establishing a program through the Mikal Kellner Foundation to donate all of her clinic's euthanasia fees in order to create a fund to assist those pet owners whose pets require medical care beyond their financial ability. Dr. Barkemeyer had numerous pets of her own, and would often bring unwanted and rejected pets home with her, where they became a part of her ever growing family of 4-footed friends.
Dr. Barkemeyer loved gardening, and woodworking. But most of all, she was a committed advocate for animal health care, a consummate professional, a gifted veterinarian and an outstanding human being. She is survived by her son, Brian, and her daughter, Gwen. The entire global veterinary community has suffered an irreplaceable loss. All of us who knew Dr. Barkemeyer will miss her dedication to her clinics, Animal Center and Companion Animal Hospital, both located in Helena, Montana, and her tireless efforts to make veterinary care available to all creatures in need."
