Tiffany Margolin, DVM Dr. Tiffany Margolin graduated from UC Davis , the number one veterinary school in the country, in 1991. She became board-certified in avian (bird) medicine and surgery in 2003. In addition, she studied the practice of NAET, an acupressure allergy-elimination technique, and became level II certified in 2003. She brings with her an exceptionally caring manner, expertise in both eastern and western medicine, and a continued hunger for learning. Her background includes numerous publications in Bird Talk magazine, literature for her peers, and several years educating the public on both radio and television. Her radio show All About Pets remained popular until she left it to pursue her specialty certification. Currently she is living her dream owning an integrative veterinary hospital, and helping your dogs, cats and exotic pets back to health here, at the Animal & Bird Wellness Center.
Dr. Margolin is a current member and past president (2005) of the Santa Barbara Ventura Veterinary Medical Association, a member of the Association of Avian Vets, the California Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Veterinary Medical Association. She writes a monthly column for Your Health Magazine and speaks regularly at schools and animal-related events around the country.
Dr. Ronald Camp holds a Doctorate in Chiropractic and is a Certified Veterinary Chiropractic Technician. Dr. Camp has over 30 years experience in chiropractic technique having practiced in both Europe and the United States.
In addition, Dr. Camp holds a B.A.I.S. in Clinical Nutrition and can advise you on your pet's dietary requirements to help prevent common illnesses so that your pet can stay happy and healthy for years to come.

Dr. Bob Zepecki is a 1973 graduate of the University of Illinois School of Veterinary Medicine. "Dr. Bob" as he is known, was a Captain in the U.S. Air Force and served in Pakistan. He was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal for his exemplary efforts in supervising the Military Personnel Section during his tour of duty. While doing his undergraduate work at the University of Illinois, Urbana, he worked with the Champaign Park District on several innovative programs for handicapped children where he initiated the first program with small animal interaction for the handicapped at Adler Center at the University of Illinois. While serving in the Illinois Air National Guard in Chicago, Dr. Bob was the liaison officer for the United States Air Force Academy in the North Central Illinois area.
Dr. Bob also served in the USAF Reserves at Chanute AFB, Rantoul, Illinois, where he performed duties as a military veterinary officer in conjunction with the Base Veterinary Section. Dr. Bob has pursued a career in veterinary medicine for the past 34 years. During that time his involvement in veterinary medicine has spanned all areas of applied practice and preventative medicine from exotic species such as lions, tigers, to domestic animals and pets. He has worked successfully with Eastern European organizations on projects to upgrade livestock genetics.

Dennis D. Woodruff, D.V.M.
Dr. Woodruff graduated from Iowa State University College of Medicine in 1974 and has a special interest in orthopedics. Dr. Woodruff performs ruptured anterior cruciate ligament repairs (RACL), triple pelvic osteotomy (TPO), and hemilaminectomy surgeries as well as complicated fracture repairs, bone biopsies, amputations and soft tissue surgery, including entropion repair, eye enucleations, gastrotomies, hernia repairs, exploratory surgeries, and soft palate surgeries. Dr. Woodruff believes in the value of continuing education for his staff and promotes attendance at leading conferences and participating in professional as well as community organizations. He has been active in and held leadership positions in the Iowa Veterinary Medical Association, the Greater Des Moines Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association and Iowa State University's Veterinary Teaching Hospital Liaison Committee. He has also contributed to his community by serving as a City Council Member and Mayor of Carlisle, Iowa. He has also enjoyed serving on the YMCA Board of Directors and the Des Moines Chamber of Commerce as well as coaching numerous little league sports teams.
Christopher Groos, D.V.M.
Dr. Groos joined the Avondale Veterinary Healthcare Complex team in July of 2004. He is a graduate of the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine and has a special interest in feline and canine dentistry. He also sees general medicine cases and enjoys surgery. Dr. Groos has studied international public health and has pursued additional education not only in dentistry, but ophthalmology and dermatology as well. He actively participates in the American Veterinary Medical Association, is a former board member for the Angel's Wish Animal Rescue Organization. He enjoys spending his free time with his wife, Jen, daughter, Hannah, and son, Henry.
Carolyn Stafford, D.V.M.
Dr. Stafford graduated from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2006. She joined the Avondale Veterinary Healthcare Complex team in August the same year. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Iowa Veterinary Medical Association and the American Animal Hospital Association. Dr. Stafford enjoys canine and feline internal medicine and surgery. She also has a special interest in animal behavior. Dr. Stafford lives in Clive with her husband, Christopher, and their cat "Phoebe".
Mandy Hollander, D.V.M.
Dr. Mandy Hollander graduated from Iowa State University College of Medicine in 2000, and has been an associate veterinarian at Avondale Veterinary Healthcare Complex since then. Dr. Hollander has special interests in canine and feline internal medicine, oncology and ultrasonography.
She is a member of many professional organizations including Greater Des Moines Veterinary Medical Association, American Animal Hospital Association, American Veterinary Medical Association and Iowa Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Hollander enjoys spending time with her husband, Marc, and their daughter, Madeline. Her family also includes her dog, "Murphy" and her cat, "Jeffery".
Kyle Malter, D.V.M.
Dr. Kyle Malter graduated from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. He comes to Avondale Veterinary Healthcare Complex from the Animal Hospital of Fayetteville, North Carolina, where he received additional training in soft tissue and orthopedic surgery. Dr. Malter is delighted to be back in the Midwest and close to his family in Missouri. He is a private pilot and enjoys flying with his wife, Cortney and their son, John Ross, along with their dogs "Daisy" and "Annie".

the following 5 years practicing in a companion animal clinic in Crystal Lake,
Illinois. She has been with Avondale Veterinary Healthcare Complex since the

Donald Bissonnette, BSc., DVM, Senior Veterinarian, Pet Vet Credit Valley Hospital
Dr. Bissonnette graduated from Ontario Agricultural College at the University of Guelph, with a Bachelors Degree in Agriculture in 1982. He entered the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program at the Ontario Veterinary College soon after and received his DVM degree in 1986. Since graduating in 1986 he has received the following educational certificates: Lifelearn Certificate in Small Animal Dentistry 1994; Lifelearn Certificate in Feline Medicine, 1994; Canadian Course in Veterinary Homeopathy, 2000, leading to certification by the Academy of Veterinary Homeopathy.
On a personal note, Dr. Bissonnette owned and operated his own practice for thirteen years with his wife Dawn who is also a Veterinarian, before he became a partner with Pet Vet Hospitals. Dr. Dawn Bissonnette has recently finished a Certification course in Veterinary Acupuncture. They live with their family of three cats, one dog and four horses. Dawn rides one of their horses in Dressage competitions. Dr. Bissonnette is interested in the area of alternative, therapies especially homeopathy and how it can be used in a complementary way with more traditional medicine, diagnostics and surgery. He is available here at Credit Valley for homeopathy referrals. Dr. Bissonnette is also very interested in feline medicine and small animal surgery.

Dawn Hughes-Bissonnette, DVM, Associate Veterinarian, Pet Vet Credit Valley Hospital
Dr. Hughes-Bissonnette graduated from Ontario Veterinary College, Class of 1986 University of Guelph. Dr. Dawn Hughes-Bissonnettes academic career began in PEI where she went to high school and then spent one year at the Nova Scotia Agricultural College prior to being accepted into the Ontario Veterinary College. After graduation Dr. Dawn worked in mixed animal practice in Sarnia and then Shelburne area where she owned and operated a practice with her husband.
After gaining experience Dr. Dawn began to specialize more in companion animal and equine medicine. In 1999 Dr. Dawn took a specialty in Acupuncture and has been using this treatment method in conjunction with Western Medicine ever since. Dr. Dawn is an excellent surgeon and came on board to Pet Vet in a surgical capacity early in 2007. Dr. Dawn spends her personal time with her horses. She is training in Natural Horsemanship known as the Parelli Program and dressage. She gives lessons in Natural Horsemanship as well. Dr. Dawn enjoys life at home with her husband Dr. Donald, and their companion Doberman “Ceilidh” and their three cats; "Shelagh", "Mr. Bigglesworth" and "Patrick".

Roselyn Allen, DVM, Associate Veterinarian, Pet Vet Credit Valley Hospital
Dr. Allen graduated from Atlantic Veterinary College, Class of 2001 University of Prince Edward Island. Dr. Allen’s academic career began with her obtaining a BA in English and a BSc in Biology from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. After graduation Dr. Allen relocated to Ontario and spent the first part of her career working at our Eastside hospital in Stoney Creek. She moved to Mississauga and became a full time Associate at our Credit Valley hospital after her son Maksim was born in 2003.
On a personal note; Dr. Allen is a proud Maritimer and returns there on her vacation time to visit with family and friends. Her personal time is spent reading and watching movies, and of course keeping up with Max. Dr. Allen has a beautiful tortoiseshell cat named “Gilda”. She is affectionately known as Dr. Roz around the Pet Vet Hospital team! Dr. Allen enjoys all aspects of companion animal medicine. She is passionately committed to the preservation of the human-animal bond and the solving of pet behavioural issues as they impact on that bond.

Dr. Johnson was raised in the Midwest. In 1977, he graduated with a B.S. degree in Microbiology from Michigan State University. Dr. Johnson received his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Michigan State University, graduating with honors, in 1981. That same year, he moved to the Merrimack Valley and practiced Veterinary Medicine at the Andover Animal Hospital from 1981 to 1993 when he left to join the Plaistow Animal Medical Center until 1995. Dr. Johnson then opened his own clinic, the Johnson Veterinary Hospital, which has been located in Lawrence since 1995. Dr. Johnson and his wife enjoy their 2 dachshunds named Kremlin & Marka, and Penelope, a cat with plenty of “attitude”.
Maija Mikkola Curtis, DVM

Dr. Mikkola graduated from the University of Michigan in 1995, with degrees in both Biology and Bio-Psychology. She graduated with honors from Michigan State College of Veterinary Medicine in May, 2000. For two years, Dr. Mikkola practiced small animal medicine in Ann Arbor, Michigan and then in Wells, Maine, before joining the Johnson Veterinary Hospital in January of 2003. She has a strong interest in surgery and internal medicine. While attending veterinary college, she was the captain of the MSU women’s ice hockey team, and continues to play with a co-ed league out of Boston. Dr. Mikkola’s interests include hiking and almost every outdoor sport. She lives on the outskirts of Boston with her husband Matt, her hairless cats Bella & Dante, and the newest additions to her family, two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels named Charlie and Dodger.

Jennifer Bailey, DVM Dr. Bailey has been with Bay Animal Hospital since June, 2002. She received her DVM from Colorado State University in 2001 and, after completing her internship in West Los Angeles, joined Bay Animal Hospital. She especially enjoys working with cats and is a member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners. Originally from Mililani, Hawaii, Dr. Bailey goes back to visit her home state twice each year. Dr. Bailey lives in Redondo Beach with her three cats, Marley, Emma and Joey, plus her two dogs, Webster and Krush. Dr. Bailey with "Marley"

Fred Rader, DVM
Dr. Rader is affectionately known by clients and staff as "Doc". Everyone looks to Doc for his guidance and expertise based on his many years of experience. Doc graduated from Ohio State Veterinary School in 1962. He practiced in Lafayette, Indiana from 1962 until 1967 working with some small animals but concentrating on farm animals.
Doc moved to Long Grove in October of 1967 and founded Skycrest Animal Clinic. For the first five years, while building the practice, he also worked as a relief Veterinarian in the Chicago area. Doc raised shelties and golden retrievers while his four children were growing up. He has since become well known far and wide for his expertise with Dobermans. After practicing for 43 years, Dr. Rader is enjoying his reduced schedule, allowing for more time to spend with his wife, Nancy and their dog, "Indy".
Kristin Wojcik, DVM
Dr. Wojcik is a 1995 graduate of Ross University and the University of Minnesota. She has been with Skycrest since 1999 and became the owner of the clinic in 2001.
Dr. Wojcik fulfilled her childhood dream when she became a veterinarian. Her passion for her profession is evident by the way she nurtures her sweet patients as well as their families. You might run into Dr. Wojcik as she hikes the trails near Long Grove with her mother and friends.
Dr. Wojcik and her husband, Don, share their home with their son, Owen, daughter Kate, and their dogs "Travis" and "Chelby" .
Stephanie Locke, DVM
Following in her father's footsteps, who is also a veterinarian, Dr. Locke graduated with honors from the University of Illinois with a strong focus on animal behavior. Dr. Locke currently lives in Arlington Heights with her husband, Mike, their German Shepherd, "Silus", certified Therapy Golden Retrievers, "Valen" and "Macallan", and Labrador, "Beam".
Her favorite pastimes include walking all the dogs and spending quality time with friends and family. Although Dr. Locke enjoys being a veterinarian for many reasons, she particularly enjoys being part of the human-animal bond, a bond to her that is unique and irreplaceable.
Susan I. Wilner, DVM
Dr. Wilner is a 1990 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine and has been in practice since that time in the Chicago area. Dr. Wilner is actively involved in the Girl Scouts and Buffalo Grove's Safety Town where she teaches children how to care for their pets with the help of her beautiful blond Golden Retriever, "Ti", and her 3-legged black & white kitty, "Koka".
She is also an avid cyclist and is often seen riding on the quiet roads of Long Grove or you may see her walking for miles and miles everyday with "Ti" trotting along beside her. In addition, she is a Girl Scout Leader and finds it very gratifying to mentor students who are interested in veterinary medicine.
Dr. Wilner keeps busy outside the office running her children, Mike and Monica, to sports practice, dance and gymnastics, and sharing their lives with her husband, Corey.
Krista Shears, DVM
Dr. Shears graduated with honors from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in May, 2004, and specializes in internal medicine. She recently relocated to Illinois from Las Vegas where she worked for one year.
Dr. Shears currently lives in Chicago where she shares her home with her dogs "Angie", a Golden Retriever who is a Certified Therapy Dog, and "Chondrus", an Australian Shepherd. Dr. Shears enjoys hiking with her dogs, boating, skiing and especially, spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Frommert is a graduate of Michigan State University and has served on the Michigan Board of Veterinary Examiners for several years. She has a son, 2 standard poodles named "Snoop" and "Beaujolais" (pictured with her here), 3 cats, a talking & singing Parrot, and a donkey named "Bo", adopted from a government rescue program.
Dr. Frommert enjoys being an active part of the animal / owner relationship. Her hobbies include boating, playing piano and gardening.
Vincent Rozyczko, DVM
Dr. Rozyczko is a graduate of Cornell University and has been practicing veterinary medicine for 2 years.
Although he’s sometimes called the “Cat Dude”, he enjoys working with canine patients as well. When not working, Dr. Rozyczko enjoys computer gaming, cardiovascular endurance training, playing with his cats "Inez" and "Beuky" and the literary works of Ayn Rand.
Nancy Smaltz, DVM
Dr. Smaltz earned her doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at Ohio State University. She has been with Brookeside Veterinary Hospital for the 21 years. Dr. Smaltz is married with 4 children who play soccer, football and other sports. Her entire family likes to ride horses a lot, and ride bicycles.
Dr. Smaltz raises horses in the fields at Brookeside and races some of the offspring. Our other horses are kept for riding or are sold.
Betty Jean Harper, DVM
Dr. Harper earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Ohio State University and did her Graduate work in Reproductive Physiology. She served on the AVMA Human-Animal Bond Committee for 6 years. Dr. Harper breeds, shows and trains Australian Terriers and Balinese Cats.
She also has Poodles in conformation, bedience, agility and flyball. Her special interests are in animal behavior and reproduction. She is also active in purebred rescue. She is pictured here with her dogs "Bun-Bun", Champion "Auz Explorin’ the H’evanz" and Champion "Auz A H’Evanzli Light Saber".

Ed Newman, DVM, MS
Dr. Newman is a 1987 graduate of Colorado State University and has been practicing veterinary medicine for 17 years.
He was born and reared in Montana, and enjoys working with all types of companion animals.
When Dr. Newman can tear himself away from work, he spends most of his time in the mountains.

MEG VINSON, DVM Dr. Vinson earned her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University in 2003. She has been practicing for 1 year and has a special interest in equine medicine. Dr. Vinson is married and her family consists of 3 dogs, 4 cats and 4 horses. She especially enjoys backpacking, horse packing, rock climbing, kayaking and scuba diving.
In addition to her talents as a Veterinarian, Dr. Vinson was a member of that elite group of female jockeys!
Her riding skills and personal experience as a professional jockey have given her an extraordinary ability to understand and treat equine conditions and injuries.
